Books A Million in Sebring, Florida - Bad store manager

The store manager i believe if im not mistaken his name is Ed. i didn't find his presents there relevant. It looks like to me that the employees arent happy to have him there. He thinks that what comes out of his mouth is funny and its not. To me he is not a manager at all in my opinion. i would gladly like to not see him there. He is too over powering and wants everything to be up to his standards which means he wants everything to be perfect when its not. Nothing is perfect. I wouldnt be surprised if people starting quitting because of him. He seems like hes the type of person that will threatening somebody's job if need be. Hes the only reason why i would go to shop there. I would try and find a new manager before everybody leaves. Every single person that works there is amazing but he rubs me the wrong way. It also seems to me that he can be there all day every single day even on his days off. Thats too much and im sure that it overwhelms the employees and keeps them on their toes.

I bought two textbooks that were about $50 total. The associate offered me the membership card, which I didn't want. She proceeded to insist on getting it and told me it was a free trial, so I finally said yes...thinking it was free. When I got my receipt, it was...

Customer service is awful!

Manager keep repeating same thing the previous employee already told you.

They try anyway or another to confuse you while you are trying to pay for what you have already decided to buy.

I'd like to respond to this comment as well "I agree with the other commenter... how could you NOT notice that they overcharged you?! It's not Books a Million's fault that you didn't pay attention to notice that you were being overcharged by nearly 12 dollars....

On February 7th I went to the Waldorf, MD Books-A-Million store. I purchased one book but when I arrived home and glanced at my receipt I realized that I had been charged an additional $11.95 for an item I did not ask for and did not receive. The store manager was...

I work for books a million.

Its impossible to cheat someone and gain personally.

Also, in the customer service industry, the phrase " the customer is always right" is used as a total disregard to the integrity of an associate doing their job and disregarding your intelligence, as well as mine.

I assure you, we dont enjoy pitching you a disc card, mag offer(annoying, but not a scam) salvation army, coffee for troops, book ort oy drive, book fair among other things...

We get it from the customers and then turn around and get it from the managers .we have to discuss how our metrics will improve next shift, honestly, we cant beat profit out of people.

We know it can be annoying.

We are sorry, but PLEASE when we are speaking, listen and pay attention. It would help yourself in the long run.

I'm so tired of being pressured by cashiers to purchase those magazines. What a crock! You know your company sells a scam and you still ramble on about it. I approached the manager about it and he laughed in my face and then walked away, out the front door. The...

Books A Million in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania - Manager and talking

the tall manager seemed very rude when i didnt accept the card or the mags. i dont apprciate how much they keep going on and on about the card when i simply said NO! i dont want to pay $25 a year for a card i will hardly use. ask once, if they say no, leave it be, if they say yes, talk all you want. i really dislike how much they talk about the card, yes i understand i get all the benfits, but honestly people, stop hounding the customers about no getting it and pressuring us to get it, i get that you are sales people but you dont need to keep going about it. when i say no i really mean NO. it pushes customers away the more you go on about it. when i said no to the card and mags, the manager seemed very impolite and RUSHED me out of the store. that has happened on two occasions, that wasnt the first i had been in, i was surpised she did the same thing again to me the second time i came in, so now, honestly i will never be going back to the books a million in the stroud mall again.

As a BAM employee I apologize for this behavior, I can assure you this is not the case at every store. However as A BAM cashier I would just like you to know that we are expected to sell one card per every $450 into our registers.

We have to talk about the card because if we don't sell them then not only does the cashier's percentage go down but so does the stores. It can be very stressful and sometimes discouraging when you are told over and over "No I do not want a card" and you know your percentage is going to ***. I will not go into a huge spiel as you are clearly uninterested and fed up with hearing about the card. However, I do want every single one of my customers to save as much money as they possibly can.

The Discount card truly will save you money even if you do not shop at your local BAM too often.

if you always make sure to use your coupons on top of the automatic 10-40% savings with the card you WILL make back the money you paid on the card in no time. and if you shop online just remember we are very competitive with Amazon and you do get that free shipping with the discount card as well.

Books A Million - Review about Rude Staff from Houston, Texas

The BAM in defiance ohio would be enjoyable w/o the old, crotchety manager who is rude to everyone unless you're buying a discount card or signing up for whatever other bs there is to offer. She's very matter of fact and curt and even her employees can't stand working with her. They feel bad that no one had done anything about the way she treats customers. I'm honestly surprised that store stays in business.
