Update by user Jul 28

We arrived at a local BAM store in Fredericksburg, VA one afternoon simply because we were waiting to go across the way to see a movie. So, we stopped in to look at some books while waiting. I had never shopped at a BAM before and my son found a few things he really...

Books A Million in Pennsauken Township, New Jersey - Poor Customer Service

Poor customer service throughout my entire visit to store. 1. Difficult and rude clerks. 2. Unwilling to help or answer questions except for indifferent non-answer. 3. Gave me a hard time and took way too long doing a simple return of under $10-. 4. Allowed customers in back of me to bully, push forward, come too close, and ask lots of questions while clerk was still waiting on me at the cash register. By doing this they caused us both to make mistakes on my purchase. 5. Coffee bar: turned off by person making food and coffee: unkempt, multicolored bright hair in eccentric odd hairdo. Long hair not in hairnet. Inattentive and indifferent to me when i was trying to order.

Books A Million - Horrible Service

I ordered a book from the website on 01/07/2019. I got a notice that it was shipped out on 01/08/2019 with expected delivery of 1/14/2019. Today is 01/24/2019 and I have not received my item. I chatted with customer service on 4 occasions and they all refuse to remedy the situation. They claim that at first its 8 business days before its considered lost. Then now they say 14 days. They also refuse to refund me my item UNTIL THEY RECEIVE IT BACK. How am I supposed to send something I never got back?!

I live in Birmingham, Alabama and visited the Brook Highland location December 2017. I was told by the cashier at the time of purchase and joining the club that I was entitled to 3 free magazines. She however DID NOT tell me that Time magazine would get my credit card...

I am a victim of the Books a Million Magazine Scam. I was in the store in my area on January 7, 2019.

I made a purchase and when asked by the check out clerk about free magazines. I said NO. I never filled out anything or signed anything. I never authorized anyone to withdraw $57.83 every month for six months before I was aware of it.

You see, I never received any "free" magazines. Because I said NO! I didn't give it a second thought until I noticed the pattern on my monthly bank statements. All in the total of $346.98.

I'm not giving up.

I hate a thief. I want my money back.

BAM was a company I trusted. Yep, me, too. And I'm a cautious person. Same thing. In a hurry at Christmas. Believed the cashier who told me same thing. Free. Free. Free. Wasn't so. Just spent 30 min trying to cancel with someone who obviously was not born in this...

Could have been a tragedy from Lava Lamp purchased at Books a Million!

WARNING!!! I purchased a Lava Lamp at Books a Million for my granddaughter. Her parents plugged it in Christmas Eve for her and a few hours later the lamp had melted and almost caught fire! If you purchased one of these lamps, please do not use it!
