Everything that could have gone wrong did. I was just running into BAM really quickly for a last minute Christmas present for my mom, and once I found the book (a 30 minute feat in itself because they have NO organizational system), I spent 30 minutes with the most...

Book ASimple solution, amazon.comThe last two experiences I am had at Books A Million were similar.1st it's hard to find anything and often when you do the book is in poor shape, beat up and folded. The toys or record players have previously been opened.2nd Once you to decide to check out, they harass you to no end with "up sales", "membership offers" and yes "*Free magazine offers" ...And people seriously wonder why retail is dead?

You can get the item new, in stock, and for the same and often better price. Also you do not have to deal with pushy cashiers.

Books A Million - Cashier Review from Atlanta, Georgia

If you order a book... do not believe that it actually takes 3 to 5 business days. It takes a month. I was told that the book I ordered would take 1 week. 2 weeks later I checked in and the cashier guaranteed it would be there in one more week. So I call today on week 3. The cashier says that it has still not even been put on the truck. It would still be another week. At this point I am just completely done and upset enough to complain where I can. You shouldn't be lying to customers and wasting their time in order to sell one book.

They don't price match with any other book stores or online websites. It's 2015, of you expect to make it as a company these days, you have to compete. If you don't price match, you lose close to half the business these days, I drove ten miles out of my way to go to...

Why would they price match with online sources? That's the quickest way to lose money as a brick & mortar store.

I can't believe people are such idiots

Books A Million in Acworth, Georgia - Online vs. brick and mortar

Visited my bam after seeing my desired books online for $35 each (x2). Store price was $60 each(x2). I asked if the online price would be honored in house. Only if I purchased a membership could I get the discount in store but would be allowed free shipping on future purchases. News flash, I visited the store so I wouldn't have to buy online and ship. I would have used Amazon if my interest was online shopping. So instead of a $70 sale for books sitting on their shelves for a year, they now have a frequent repeat customer who will move to online shopping but not with them.

I buy most if not all my books online on Amazon. Its always cheaper than buying retail, plus I'm a Prime Member so I get free two day shipping.

After spending nearly $40 on two books at BAM, I decided just to online shop. The retail prices are crazy, and Im not going to pay $15 for a book I can find for $9 or less online.

THE INTERNET IS ALWAYS CHEAPER!!!! because the company doesn't have to pay a million middle men for you to click. Even walmart is cheaper online and nobody honors online prices in store.

The cashier was rude.I asked for an Italian Cream Soda then she asked what flavor? I asked what are the flavors? She proceeded to get a piece of paper from under the register...In the meantime a manager comes out of nowhere and they start playing around(while I'm standing there waiting for my drink). I was never asked if I had a discount card nor was I greeted. After giving me my drink, she didn't say anything nor did the manager.I come to this BAM alot and have never been treated so rudely.

Wow that is bad. As an employee I can tell you I personally would have reported them to the GM (General Manager ) on the spot. I am so sorry.

Books A Million in Brunswick, Georgia - I don't like lists of what I read being kept...

Recently went to your Brunswick, GA location to purchase a couple of books. Found what I wanted easily enough, but when I went to pay for the books, the cashier was very pushy about joining the loyalty club. I was asked several times if I wanted to join and declined every time with the clerk giving some feigned expression of disappointment and going, "awww...." each time I said no. I'm not a fan of these loyalty clubs (a more accurate description of them would be tracking club) and i find the idea of having to **pay** for the privilege of my reading habits being tracked and monitored obnoxious.

They have to meet a quota of new sign ups. If they don't, they could be fired

The card doesn't keep track of anything save for the information you give while signing up.

Even that is just for your convenience as you can use your phone number for membership look up rather than having to need the physical card.

On 03/23/2013, I was double charged on a single transaction made in the store, in the amount of $58.08. 04/01/2013 I attempted to speak with(in person) to the Store Mgr Christy Waits. After walking over the Ms. Waits I was told that my issue was not alone and customer...

I had the sme thing happen to me 3/30/13. Went to store; talked to Christy; showed her the duplicate charge and then ...

nothing. Called to BAM HQ, left a couple of messages with different people in the finance department and haven't heard a thing.

Called local TV investigative reporter, but my amount ($24.29) is really too small to mess with, but I wonder how many people in how many places have had this happen. Could add up to a lot of money.
