I purchased a wedding planner about an hour ago only to take off the plastic to open it and realized the binder rings were screwed up. I then called the store and they will not let me do an even exchange. He said I would have to buy a whole new planner.

A charge for a magazine subscription showed up on my bank account. When I called the eight hundred number listed I was told I signed up for magazines at Books A Million. I've only shopped there once and will never shop there again. Sounds like a SCAM to me! Thats my...

Check the bottom of your receipt from that purchase. It’s a verbatim copy of an agreement you signed (which the company can definitely send you) allowing the magazine company to charge your card at the end of the predetermined trial period (3 months).

You only feel scammed because you didn’t read the contract like a normal human would.

Unfortunately, it is the primary function of the booksellers' jobs to sell those cards. They determine how many hours you're given and whether or not you get to actually keep your job. Trust me, the sellers hate having to push it just as much as the customers hate hearing it.

Books A Million in Hernando, Mississippi - Bad business practice

Why sell a book you do not have ? The book I order was out of print !!! Why not be up front and say so and that you needed to order it?? How do you back order a book that is out of print in a week ?? . This is a bad business practice. Done by vendors like you. I am posting this so others do not waste their time with you. "Back ordered items are still pending in our system. We will fulfill your order as quickly as possible, typically within five business days. In rare cases this could take two to four weeks, and shipment at this time is not guaranteed. " This is a standard line and appears that you list books you DO NOT HAVE IN STOCK TO GET THE BUSINESS. Shame on you for being deceptive. Again, how do you back order books that others such as Amazon and BN cannot ??

Please don't blame the over stressed employees; we push what we're told while singlehandedly running the entire store operations; meanwhile, management is on their phones in the back, surfing Netflix. The underdogs have to meet an impossible sales goal for those cards...

This review is obviously a lie. You work for books a million in some capacity and you only posted this to conteract all the negative reviews.

Instead of offering appoliges to your wronged customers or compensating them in some way you write fake good reviews.

Just when I though BAM couldn't get anymore low someone proven me wrongs. Instead of offer

I was signed up in store, promised Black Friday 50% off deal (12$ instead of 25$). She Fudged half my info, didn’t ask me anything, rang me up.

I looked at my receipt and said “the membership here wasn’t 12$?? It was full price! And you set it up for auto renewal” she said “sorry maam, I can’t change or refund for it now... you can change auto renewal online” .

But it’s no where online! I asked “what about the money??” And she tried to upsell the value of the card.

*** this business. I contacted corporate and gave a horrible review of the location and employee.

They force us to push those magazines on customers. If we don't make a required number by the end of the week we get wrote up.

They also lie about employees getting fired because of it. It's just to keep the customers quiet. I work there and it sucks. Too much stress from being forced to push discount cards and magazines that people don't want.

This company is horrible.
